Clock In F.A.Q.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, since January 2018 a new cloud-based version is available. Note that this version requires an external database. This can be in the cloud (on-line) on running on a computer on the local network.
Depending on the number of employees, this should only take one to two minutes. If the week ends on a Friday, for example, the report will be emailed immediately after midnight on Friday night / Saturday morning.
Yes, the system issues a weekly email on Wednesdays listing any days-off that are due to be taken the following two weeks. Note that this means there is always a one week overlap.
Each day the application will compile and send an email to the owner / manager listing any days-off requested (or existing days-off deleted by employees) during the previous 24 hours.
Each employee can enter their own annual leave days up to a given number of NOTICE days before that holiday. The number of days notice is entered by the administrator. This can be set to 14, for example. This means that each employee will have to give two weeks notice. Note that in addition to Annual Leave, employees can also choose, various other ‘day-types’, including unpaid days. When an employee enters ‘days-off requests’, a notice is shown to the employee stating that any days off are subject to management approval.
No. Each new employee entered is given a unique ID. Even if all your employees had the same name, they would still be unique to the application!
The initial default password for Pyxis Clock In is Password. This should always be changed when you first setup the application. If you loose this new admin password and cannot remember what it was, please contact support who will help you re-set it, without losing any data.
The data is always saved to disk. The application will re-start exactly where is was when the computer quit. All employees who where clocked-in when the computer shut-down will be still clocked-in when the application is launched after the re-start.
The number of employees is not limited in the application. However, if a lot of people are clocking in at the same time, you may need to install the application on several computers to avoid queueing. Each licence allows two instances of the application to be installed, subject to terms and conditions (notably, both instances of the application must be installed for the same business / company).
The administrator can edit any / all times.
The administrator can enter Day Types (including Public Holidays) for one or all employees simultaneously.
No. Pyxis Clock In will only email weekly reports, based on the day of the week. However, manual reports can be generated to cover any time period.
